BATON ROUGE — The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport launched a new wayfinding platform to help travelers more easily plan trips and navigate the airport.

GoodMaps is available on BTR's website, with travelers able to use an interactive map to explore the terminal, search for destinations and review routes before leaving home. The service will be available in web browsers, with no app, account or login required.

Once at the airport, travelers can continue in the browser or use the free GoodMaps app for more detailed turn-by-turn navigation, with the app offering spoken, visual, and haptic guidance, screen-reader compatibility, step-free route options and real-time confirmation as users move toward their destination.

"Flying local is about making the most of your time and starting your trip closer to home," Mike Edwards, Director of Aviation at BTR, said in a statement Tuesday. "GoodMaps adds another layer of ease to that experience. It gives travelers more information before they arrive and more choice in how they navigate once they are here. Most importantly, it reflects our commitment to making BTR accessible to all travelers and giving everyone greater opportunity to navigate the airport on their own terms."
