Sports Anchor / Reporter

WBRZ is a great sports opportunity for the person looking to cover high level sports all year long.  We're looking for a sports anchor/reporter who knows what they’re doing and wants to take their skills to the next level.  Storytelling, presence, and technical skill are what we’re looking for as you help bring daily local broadcast to a sports-savvy market.

You will develop, write, shoot, edit and deliver sports information on-air and online.

Show us your work that's interesting, educational, and maybe even a little odd.

Anchoring experience in a TV newsroom is required.  Baton Rouge is a sports town.  Come be a part of it.

Part-time newscast director

WBRZ has an immediate opening for a part-time newscast director.  This is a great opportunity to learn the technical aspects of television production.  This position is responsible for executing live newscasts, some minor graphic design and video editing.  This opening is for positions on our morning newscasts, including weekend mornings.  Must be willing to learn basic computer coding and be able to interact with computer equipment for most of the shifts.

WBRZ Account Executive

WBRZ- TV is looking for a highly motivated and competitive business professional who is a self-starter to sell advertising solutions to local businesses including digital asset strategies.

The applicant is expected to:

  1. Manage and grow an existing account list,
  2. Develop new business,
  3. Employ excellent communication and organizational skills
  4. Meet all revenue and new business goals for multiple entities.

 Required Experience:

Ad sales experience is preferred, including knowledge of Comscore ratings, Power Point and other Windows-based software. A college degree and advertising sales experience is preferred.

News Photographer

WBRZ has a full-time opening for a news photographer.  Previous experience using a commercial video camera is required.  An understanding of the news gathering process is essential.  This position is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their career or for an individual who is ready to take their first step as a professional photojournalist.  News photographers capture the first moments of a breaking news story, the emotional elements of a human interest story and the captivating video of an investigative report.  This position may be assigned weekends or evenings.  Send resume and cover letter to Jonathan Shelley; jshelley@wbrz.com.

Part-time Runner / Helper

WBRZ-TV has an opening for an entry-level Part-time Runner / Helper.

 This position is ideal for a student taking afternoon classes and available to work in the mornings only. The duties consist of running errands, light maintenance, moving equipment and supplies, lifting approximately 30-50 lbs., light office duties.

Must be dependable and have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM with some afternoons on approval.

WBRZ offers internships each semester in the following departments: News, Marketing, Information Systems, Production, Graphics, Sports, and Weather. Interns will experience firsthand the daily operations of the department and will perform various duties as assigned. Student must be enrolled in a station approved college/university and be approved by the college dean/advisor/chair to take an internship course for curriculum credit and grade.
