HAMMOND — Striping work is ready to begin and sealcoating is expected to continue—weather permitting—as crews tackle the final tasks on the 2026 pavement preservation project in Tangipahoa Parish, parish officials announced on Monday.

After more than a week of rain delays, sealcoating is expected to proceed starting Monday on Drude Road near Ponchatoula, General Ott Road near Hammond, and North Thibodeaux Road near Ponchatoula, Parish President Robby Miller said.

In addition to the sealcoating work this week, crews will begin layout and striping operations on the following roadways across the parish: Friendship Church Road, Turnpike Road, Hendry Road, Wares Road, Spitale Road, Virginia Road, Woodhaven Road and Randall Road.

Intermittent delays are possible in construction zones, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, if possible.
