Ascension Parish will phase out emergency sirens by 2027
DONALDSONVILLE — Ascension Parish officials announced on Tuesday that it will be phasing out emergency sirens and moving towards digital alerts to warn residents.
Starting in 2027, residents will receive emergency information through smartphones, landlines, digital and analog television, and other connected notification systems, according to a Facebook post made by the parish Community Awareness and Response.
