LIVINGSTON — A 31-year-old is dead after a fatal crash along La. 444 early Monday morning. 

According to Louisiana State Police, Tyionne Bause of Lutcher was driving east on La. 444 near Dutch Lane. Around 4:45 a.m., Bause tried to pass another truck ahead of her and entered the westbound lane, striking a truck head-on. 

Bause was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital. She later died due to her injuries. The driver of the truck was also not wearing a seatbelt and was also hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Impairment is not suspected, but routine toxicology samples will be collected and submitted for analysis.
