15 arrest warrants issued following football game between West St. Mary High and Jeanerette High School

BALDWIN — 15 arrest warrants were issued following a Friday night football game between West St. Mary High and Jeanerette High School, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. 

The sheriff's office said that on Sept. 11, multiple altercations broke out simultaneously during the football game, causing law enforcement to evacuate the stadium filled with about 900 fans out of an abundance of caution.

Of the 15 warrants issued, three people have been arrested, including 17-year-old Jacorian Kimble, 18-year-old Brandon Derouen Jr. and 17-year-old Wardell Howard. 

"A school-related event should be a guaranteed safe haven for all who come to support and cheer for our children as they engage in activity that they love," said Dr. Rachel Sanders, Superintendent of St. Mary Parish Schools "From us, you will be served with a notice of prohibited access banning you from all school-related events. Approximately 20 of these notices will be served today."

-19-year-old Jose Martinez
-18-year-old Miguel Martinez
-21-year-old Zephania Phillips
-19-year-old Zion Colar

Those with active warrants are asked to turn themselves in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.
