BATON ROUGE — Grace Life Fellowship and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office hosted National Faith and Blue Night on Monday.
Organizers say the event is designed to bring community members and law enforcement officers together to connect with residents and build safer and stronger communities.
Deputies played games with kids and brought out patrol cars and SRT trucks for kids to enjoy.
"Collaboration is so important on so many different levels, so I love to see that they are moving together to show the community that we are here to celebrate together, to have fun together and ultimately have safe activities," said Jasmin Johnson of The Baton Rouge Area Youth Network.
Organizers believe events like this are a great way to unite the community. Faith leaders also blessed the badges of the sheriff's deputies involved in Monday night's activities.
