FRANKLIN — Saronic Technologies has placed the final structural beam at its shipyard expansion in Franklin, marking a key step toward completing the project.

The expansion will add more than 300,000 square feet to the existing shipyard. That includes three new slips, expanded warehouse space and a dedicated production line for autonomous vessels.

The project is expected to bring 1,500 jobs to the area as part of the $300 million investment.
