BATON ROUGE - After hearing more than an hour of public comment, the Louisiana Public Service Commission approved a measure to keep records related to a data center project in Richland Parish secret. 

Residents from across the state attended Wednesday's PSC meeting to speak out against how state lawmakers have handled the deal with Meta, the technology company that owns Facebook and Instagram.

WBRZ has previously reported that 77% of state Senators signed non-disclosure agreements about the project at the request of Louisiana Economic Development. 

"Meta knows everything about me. Meta knows everything about you if you're on social media. I wanna know everything about Meta," said West Feliciana Parish resident Kelly Ward.

Wednesday night's vote concerned a judge's ruling that Meta would need to turn over records related to the data center after requesting that Entergy build new power generators for the project. 

The commissioners voted 3-1 to disagree with the ruling to subpoena Meta's records. Public Service commissioners Jean-Paul Coussan, Mike Francis and Eric Skrmetta voted to approve the measure. Commissioner Davanta Lewis was the sole "No" vote.
