BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a June apartment shooting that left five juveniles injured. 

According to an arrest warrant signed on July 2, a group of six juveniles were standing outside the Pelican Bay Apartments along Lobdell Boulevard on June 17 before a car drove past them; the occupants of the car got out and began shooting at them before driving away. 

The shooting resulted in five of the six juveniles being injured. A spokesperson later told WBRZ that an 11-year-old, a 14-year-old, two 15-year-olds and a 17-year-old were all shot.

Two apartments and a car in the parking lot were also struck in the shooting. 

Police began investigating the shooting and, through an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip, learned that one of the shooters was allegedly 18-year-old Antoine Cooley. 

The tipster added that, after the shooting, Cooley posted on Instagram that one of the juveniles who was struck "was not supposed to be hit." 

Police later learned that the car and gun used in the incident were both stolen.

On Tuesday, Cooley was arrested on six counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of illegal use of a weapon. 

BRPD told WBRZ that Cooley was also wanted on an unrelated murder charge.
