DONALDSONVILLE — A judge who previously resigned from his post was hired at the 23rd JDC District Attorney's office, the office confirmed to WBRZ.

Steven Tureau resigned from his seat on a 23rd Judicial District bench in September. He was hired "and assumed his role as a felony division Assistant District Attorney" Monday, the district attorney's office said.

In August, Tureau was disqualified from running for reelection for the Division D judgeship in the 23rd Judicial District after he did not meet the candidacy requirements related to filing federal and state tax returns or valid extensions for the previous five years.
