North Oaks Health invites Tangipahoa Parish community to support local food drive

HAMMOND — The Health Equity Summit food drive in Tangipahoa Parish is set to take place later this month. 

Supply drop-off will be available on Oct. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the North Oaks Diagnostic Center, 15837 Paul Vega MD Drive, Hammond, in the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center. 

The Tangipahoa Health Equity Summit, hosted by North Oaks Health, is supporting local families in need through several community organizations, including Tangipahoa Parish School System, The Hope Closet, Restoration House, North Oaks Health Feeding Our Own, Our Daily Bread and SLU Roomie’s Pride Pantry.

Each organization is requesting different supplies. 

Restoration House:
Infant formula
Baby food
Toddler food

TPSS / The Hope Closet:
Dried beans
Brown rice
Low-sodium canned vegetables

North Oaks Health Feeding Our Own:
Small boxes of raisins
Granola bars
Oatmeal pouches

Our Daily Bread:
Packaged tuna (not canned)
Ready-to-eat chicken in pouches
Pop-top canned beans

SLU Roomie’s Pride Pantry:
Canned chicken
Tuna pouches

All donations will be accepted and a drop-off box will be available in the North Oaks Diagnostic Center for anyone who wishes to donate.
