NAPOLEONVILLE — An Assumption Parish student recently won international honors at the International Mini Bull Riders Association World Finals.

Cooper Phelps, a sixth grader at Napoleonville Elementary, competed last month in Utah against more than 40 junior riders in his age division from across the U.S. and Australia to be named the International Mini Bull Riders Association World Finals Champion.

For the competition, Phelps successfully rode four out of the four bulls that he drew, which allowed him to claim the 2026 Reserve World Champion Jr Division in IMBA Bull Riding and a $4,000 cash prize.
