DONALDSONVILLE — A boil advisory was issued after two water lines were accidentally damaged by a contractor in Donaldsonville, officials said Wednesday.

Parish Utilities of Ascension said around 12:15 p.m. that water pressure for Ascension Consolidated Utility District #1 customers in Donaldsonville will be affected after a water line was damaged.

At 2:52 p.m., Parish Utilities sent out a notification saying another water line between Mount Olive Church Road and Burns Drive was damaged by a contractor.

At 7:43 p.m., officials said that a major water main broke, and that a boil advisory was issued for customers along Mount Olive Church Road to Delaney Road.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue," Parish Utilities of Ascension said. No timeline for repair was given.
