Mississippi man arrested after allegedly breaking into St. Francisville church, nearby home while naked
ST. FRANCISVILLE — A Mississippi man has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a St. Francisville church and a nearby home while he was naked.
According to St. Francisville Police, a Royal Street resident called police on Oct. 20 and reported that a nude man touched her forehead while she was sleeping. Officers eventually arrived and detained the man.
The man, later identified as 49-year-old Heath Alan Brumfield from Vicksburg, Mississippi, had entered the home through an unlocked door without the consent of the homeowner, police said. During the incident, Brumfield had a fire extinguisher that was later determined to be from the nearby St. Francisville United Methodist Church.
Police added that, earlier in the night, Brumfield was seen on surveillance footage entering the church hall and removing the fire extinguisher.
Brumfield was taken into custody and then evaluated by medical professionals. After his evaluation, he was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison as a fugitive before being taken to the West Feliciana Sheriff’s Office Detention Center, where he was booked on simple burglary, simple battery and unauthorized entry to an uninhabited dwelling.
