BRUSLY — An Abbeville 18-year-old has been arrested by Brusly Police after allegedly lying about his age online and traveling 100 miles to meet two teen girls whom he is accused of sexually assaulting, the West Baton Rouge Independent reports.

According to the outlet, Andrew Romero faces two counts of third-degree rape.

Officers responded to reports of a sexual assault at a Brusly home on Sept. 11, with the suspect no longer at the home when officers arrived.

The Independent adds that the victims say they met Romero online and communicated with him for about three weeks through TikTok and Snapchat, believing he was 17 years old.

The girls said they invited him to their home to watch a movie, but while in the living room, Romero removed their clothes and engaged in sexual acts that the victims did not consent to, police continued.

After the assault, one of the 13-year-olds ran to a neighbor's home and called 911. Both juveniles were taken to an area hospital, officials added.
