Livingston Parish deputy resigns after arrest on forgery charges
LIVINGSTON — A Livingston Parish clerical deputy has resigned after she was arrested on forgery charges.
Courtney Moran, 46, worked at the Livingston Parish Detention Center for eight years before her Wednesday arrest.
According to deputies, on March 23, detectives received a complaint from a man whose credit score had been negatively impacted, telling deputies he identified several mortgage documents, including deferred payments and loan modifications, that he believed were forged.
Detectives later found that several names were forged on notarized documents.
The man recently divorced Moran, he added. Moran was later arrested on five counts of forgery.
