HALFTIME: Southern Jaguars trailing UAPB 17-10
BATON ROUGE - The Southern Jaguars opened their homecoming game against Arkansas Pine Bluff with many usual starters missing.
Quarterback Wyatt McCauley got the start while starter Christian Johnson and backup Ashton Strother were out. The opening drive ended with a touchdown. It was a 20-yard pass to Daejawn Smith from the third-string quarterback.
UAPB responded in less than three minute with at touchdown of their own to even the score 7-7.
Southern got on the board again before the second quarter with Chris McMcKenna sinking a 23-yard field goal, Jags go up 10-7.
The Golden Lions were driving to end the first quarter and scored 45 seconds into the second as quarterback Garrison David threw a 15-yarder into the endzone to put his team up 14-10.
