BATON ROUGE - Last season, the Belaire Bengals hosted their first playoff game in 17 years, going 6-4 on the season. Head coach Byron Wade has made tremendous progress since taking over in 2020.

The Bengals are going to be extremely young this season, graduating 16 seniors in May.

BROOKLYN - LSU forward Tari Eason becomes the 17th Tiger selected in the first round of the NBA draft. The Houston Rockets select Eason with the 17th pick.

Eason won the SEC 6th man of the year, leading LSU in scoring with 16.9 points, and 1.1 blocks.

One of those is 4 star quarterback Reese Mooney who returns after breaking his leg in Week 4 of last season. It's a talented bunch that has weapons on both sides of the football and is hoping to put some early playoff exits in the rearview in hopes of surging the program deep into the 5A playoffs.
