BATON ROUGE — A grand jury chose not to indict a man who was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting along Tiger Bend Road. 

Marcus Jackson, 44, was arrested in June for allegedly killing Alex Wilson, the father of his girlfriend's child. Detectives accused Jackson of fatally shooting Wilson while trying to pick up his child, and then fleeing the scene in his girlfriend's vehicle.

According to investigators, Jackson later admitted after his arrest to shooting Wilson following the argument.

A grand jury returned the case on Thursday as "no true bill" on Thursday, meaning the group chose not to indict Jackson. 

He was initially arrested in LaPlace on charges of second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons and auto theft.
