LEXINGTON, Kentucky — No. 10 LSU lost 35-34 to Kentucky in overtime.

LSU received the ball first and went down the field, but had to settle for a field goal in the red zone. Kentucky RB CJ Baxter ripped a 77-yard run on the Wildcats' first offensive play of the game, which led to a three-yard touchdown at the goal line.

The Tigers took the lead with a triple reverse pass from quarterback Sam Leavitt to tight end Zach Grace, but Kentucky's Brock Coffman scored on a punt return. LSU would go down the field again, with 10-yard pass from Leavitt to wide receiver Jackson Harris giving the Tigers the lead.

Kentucky responded to end the half, as quarterback Kenny Minchey converted a fourth-and-goal at the one-yard line for a touchdown.

Kentucky and LSU traded punts after the half before Sam Leavitt's pass went off of wide receiver Eugene Wilson III's hands for an interception. LSU was able to get a turnover on downs and make the score 21-20 on the following drive.

The Wildcats would match with their own field goal to make it 24-20 with 11:54 in the fourth quarter. LSU tight end Roman Mothershed would catch a pass from Jackson Harris to give LSU the 27-24 lead.

Kentucky would drive down to the red zone, but kicker Adam Zouagui would miss a field goal to give the Tigers the ball back.

On the following drive, Leavitt fumbled the ball to give it back to Kentucky in the red zone, but after a defensive stop, Zouagui would miss the game-tying field goal with under four minutes to keep the game 27-24.

With 1:46 left in the fourth quarter and Kentucky out of time outs, LSU punted the ball back to Kentucky. On a 33-yard-attempt, Zouagui would convert the field goal to tie the game 27-27 and send the game to overtime.

LSU received the ball first, and Leavitt ran it in for a touchdown to give LSU a 34-27 lead. Kentucky's wide receiver Kenny Darby took a pass on 3rd and 8 to the one-yard line, with Baxter scoring to make it 34-33.

Kentucky went for a two-point conversion to win the game, and quarterback Kenny Minchey ran a draw up the middle to win the game.
