BATON ROUGE — Baton Rouge automobile dealership owner Matt McKay died on Saturday night at the age of 71 following a battle with Alzheimer's disease, according to a report by The Advocate. 

The businessman was known for his role as president and CEO of All Star Automotive Group, which grew to become the largest auto dealership empire in Louisiana. 

McKay, along with his business partner John Noland, started the company in 1987 in Gonzales, with the auto network spanning 14 brands in 13 locations across Baton Rouge, Prairieville and Denham Springs. 

He went on to create the McKay Automotive Technology Center, a multi-million-dollar learning center dedicated to teaching men and women skills as an automotive technician. 

McKay served in several organizations around Baton Rouge, including the Baton Rouge Area Foundation, the Tiger Athletic Foundation, the Woman's Hospital and the Baton Rouge Area of Commerce.
