SAINT FRANCISVILLE — A man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a crash on Monday that resulted in the death of a 28-year-old from St. Francisville. 

Andre Jones, 40, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, was booked into the West Feliciana Jail for negligent homicide, careless operation, no insurance and window tint. 

Jones was driving north on US 61 near West Feliciana Parkway in the right lane while the victim was traveling in the left lane on a motorcycle, according to the Louisiana State Police. Jones then attempted to make a U-turn, causing the motorcycle to crash into his vehicle.  

Jones was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe and the victim was driving a 1998 Honda Shadow motorcycle, according to authorities. 

The motorcyclist was wearing a Department of Transportation-approved helmet at the time of the crash. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
