Walk-On's owner gives LSU soccer player $10,000 scholarship amid cancer treatment
MADISONVILLE — An LSU soccer player and cancer survivor received a $10,000 scholarship from Walk-On's on Thursday morning.
Rylie Kuyper, a Louisiana native from Madisonville, is currently in Houston receiving her final treatments for Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Walk-On's owner Brandon Landry surprised her with the scholarship this morning. Landry said when he heard about her story, he had to do something.
"Showing grit and doing everything that she possibly can to be positive and faces adversity head on and say I'm coming back from this," Landry said. "We just thought it was a story and a kid that we wanted to make sure that we came and rewarded."

Kuyper could not be there in person, so the news was delivered to her over Zoom.
