BAPTIST — A portion of North Brick Yard Road in the Baptist area, south of Gatlin Cemetery Road, will be closed Sept. 14 to 15. 

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development hired bridge contractors to begin moving trees and clearing the right-of-way to prepare for a new bridge, according to Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller. 

Construction on the new bridge will begin later this year and last into 2027. 

Closure signs will be posted and drivers will be directed to alternative routes.
