ST. FRANCISVILLE — This year is the first time that West Feliciana Parish Schools will focus on more robust cybersecurity at Bains Elementary School in classrooms and on phones. 

The program is funded by West Feliciana's education foundation and is designed to teach students how to recognize online risks and practice safe digital habits. 

The district is also expanding its learning opportunities during the 2026-27 school year. These range from the StarLab, a mini planetarium at Bains, to a new hands-on aquaponics learning environment at West Feliciana Middle School. 

Students return to classes on Friday, Aug. 7.
