St. Luke's Episcopal Church continues to rebuild after devastating fire in 2024
BATON ROUGE - Following a devastating fire that destroyed St. Luke's Episcopal Church in February 2024, the community continues to help them rebuild.
The church is hosting a public event to kick off the public phase of their Capital Campaign.
The campaign, titled “Honoring Our Past. Building Our Future,” seeks to raise between $3 million and $3.5 million to rebuild and enhance church facilities.
Funds will support the construction of a new church building, a redesigned Pope Hall and significant exterior improvements to the campus. The proposed church will seat approximately 350 worshipers and include expanded gathering areas and a chapel.
Once finished, the redesigned Pope Hall will provide nearly 4,000 square feet of flexible space for fellowship and parish events.
The kick-off event is Saturday, March 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Witter Hall and on the church's front lawn. The event will include live music, refreshments and an opportunity for parishioners to view construction progress.
