BATON ROUGE - Funeral services were announced for Jerry Stovall, a former LSU All-American player and coach who died at 85 years old.

Stovall, whose No. 21 jersey is retired by LSU, was a consensus All-American, three-time All-SEC selection and Heisman Trophy runner-up as a player. He also served as the Tigers’ head football coach and later served as Louisiana Tech’s athletic director from 1990-93.

Stovall's services will be held at First Presbyterian Church on North Boulevard on Sept. 4, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and the funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m.
