HAMMOND — Southeastern Louisiana University is set to hold its annual Giving Day on Sept. 16.

The 24-hour online effort brings alumni, friends, students and community members together to support the university. Donations are encouraged between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. at southeasterngivingday.org.

Interim Vice President for University Advancement Malayne Sharp said the event is about rallying people to support Southeastern in big and small ways.

"Giving Day is more than just a 24-hour campaign; it's a true celebration of Southeastern. Every gift, big or small, helps provide opportunities for our students and ensures Southeastern's momentum continues into the next century," Sharp said.

Sharp also encouraged supporters to help spread the word.

Assistant Director of Donor Engagement Faith Peterson said every donation counts, whether it's $10 or $10,000.

"What matters is participation," Peterson said. "Last year, we celebrated our Centennial, but this year, we are looking to the future and investing in the Lions' Next 100!"
