REPORT: Seattle Mariners plan to call up former LSU pitcher Kade Anderson
SEATTLE - The Seattle Mariners plan to call up former LSU pitcher Kade Anderson for their game Saturday against the Chicago Cubs, ESPN's Jeff Passan reports.
After being selected by Seattle with the third pick in the MLB Draft in 2025, Anderson has dominated the minor leagues. In 2026, Anderson's record is 10-1 in 18 starts with 135 strikeouts. According to Fangraphs, Anderson ranks fifth in all of Minor League Baseball in strikeouts. All the players above him, however, have thrown for more innings.

Heading into what will be his major league debut, Anderson is ranked as the No. 5 prospect in baseball. As of the writing of this article, the Mariners are 60-68 and are three games behind the Minnesota Twins for the last wild card spot in the American League.
