Meta partners with LSU for medical research, grants $2 million in grants across 5 schools
BATON ROUGE — Meta is partnering with five schools, including LSU, to bring its artificial intelligence models to medical and scientific research.
Meta said it would be providing $2 million in grants to Caltech, Ohio State, LSU, Indiana and UTHealth Houston.
LSU's project will be monitoring for infant tracheostomies, developing a computer vision system to continuously detect tracheostomy tube displacement and signs of distress in infants who cannot reliably vocalize.
