Man arrested in 92-year-old father's beating death to be held without bond
BATON ROUGE - A man who was arrested in the beating death of his 92-year-old father will be held in jail and not allowed to bond out, a judge decided Wednesday.
On Monday, 92-year-old Larry Salisbury was found dead in his Archery Drive home. His son, 45-year-old Bruce Salisbury, has been arrested for first-degree murder in the killing.
The WBRZ Investigative Unit found that Bruce Salisbury had a lengthy criminal history, including being convicted previously of domestic violence against his father.
Documents from his arrest say that Larry Salisbury was given two black eyes and had dried blood in his ears from the beating. A protective order was issued, but Larry Salisbury had it rescinded and Bruce Salisbury moved back in with him.
