BATON ROUGE — The LSU Museum of Art unveiled a new exhibit on Thursday featuring the works of Walter Inglis Anderson.

The exhibit, called "The South's Most Elusive Artist: Walter Inglis Anderson," features more than 40 of Anderson's works including ceramics, watercolor paintings and sketches.

Anderson's family also loaned the museum pieces that have never been seen before.

"We're just hoping people can come in and really get to know one of the Gulf Coast's most prominent artist and also these works were very private to him," Michelle Schulte, Chief Curator of Exhibitions and Collections, said, "A lot of times they weren't really on display anywhere else. And so, it's a real treat for us to see them here at the museum."

The exhibit closes Jan. 3.
