HAMMOND — A lost pony found in Hammond by Tangipahoa Sheriff's deputies on Friday has been reunited with its owner, according to authorities. 

Deputies located the pony along West Lee Hughes Road on Friday morning, with a neighbor offering to care for the animal until the owner is located. 

A Tangipahoa Sheriff spokeswoman says after local law enforcement distributed info on the found animal on social media, its owner reached out to dispatchers on Friday afternoon to claim the pony.
