Judge deciding whether to hold attorney in Madison Brooks case in contempt
BATON ROUGE — A judge is deciding whether to hold Desmond Carter's defense attorney in contempt.
Carter, 21, will be on trial for first- and third-degree rape on Dec. 7, and he is one of three people accused of raping Madison Brooks. He is being represented by Caitlin Fowlkes.
Fowlkes' attorney, Jim Boren, said the judge in the case is considering holding Fowlkes in contempt after she failed to redact Madison Brooks' name in a court filing.

Boren also confirmed that the court is expected to issue a ruling on the contempt matter on Oct. 19.
