BATON ROUGE — A man incarcerated in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on attempted rape charges in March 2025 now faces new charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted his cellmate.

According to arrest records, 31-year-old Dequan Brock allegedly sexually assaulted his cellmate on Sept. 16. After Brock's cellmate refused to engage in a sex act, he was awakened by Brock assaulting him, the arrest report says.

The cellmate was eventually removed from the cell when deputies were making rounds through the jail.

Deputies noted that the incident happened in a section of the jail where inmates with disciplinary issues are housed.

On Sept. 28, Brock was charged with sexual battery for the alleged incident. The arrest report says he admitted to the allegations, but claimed that his cellmate "was the aggressor and started the sexual actions first."

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison roster, Brock was booked on the new charges on Oct. 16.
