GEISMAR — Ascension Parish deputies are searching for a 20-year-old accused of a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured in Geismar last month. 

According to deputies, Kelvin Roel Gutierrez-Lara was driving a yellow Dodge on Aug. 15 when he allegedly struck a pedestrian on Dutchtown Lane around 9 p.m. Gutierrez-Lara is then accused of driving away toward La. 74. 

The vehicle involved in the crash was eventually located and collected.
