DENHAM SPRINGS — The Denham Springs Main Street Chili Cook-Off is coming back to Mattie Street on Oct. 10, this year featuring a new Touch-A-Truck experience for families.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Denham Springs' Antique Village, with Denham Springs Main Street partnering with the Denham Springs Fire Department and the American Red Cross to make it happen.

Chili teams from across the community will line Mattie Street, serving samples and competing while visitors decide which pot is best. Local vendors, music, activities and a variety of public safety and service vehicles will also be part of the day.

"This event has always been about getting people downtown, having a good time and bringing the community together," said Elizabeth Baudoin, Marketing Chair for Denham Springs Main Street.

"Adding Touch-A-Truck this year gives families even more to do while they're here. Come hungry, bring the kids and plan to spend a few hours with us downtown," Baudoin said.

Tasting wristbands are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under. Chili team registration is $25 and vendor spaces are available for $35.
