HOLDEN — A 50-year-old Holden motorcyclist died in a high-speed crash near the intersection of La. 441 and La. 442.

According to Louisiana State Police, on Tuesday around 5 p.m., the motorcyclist was riding west on La. 441 approaching La. 442 when a pickup truck pulling a trailer was traveling east on La. 441 and attempting to turn onto La. 442.

The motorcycle then struck the trailer, and the rider was ejected.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a properly secured helmet, then sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck's driver was not injured.
