14-year-old boy arrested, allegedly brought two BB guns to Hammond school
HAMMOND - A 14-year-old was arrested for bringing two BB guns to a Hammond middle school inside his book bag on Wednesday.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office said the teen was a student at Hammond Eastside Upper School.
TPSO said that a different student told a teacher that the 14-year-old had a gun in his school bag. A school resource officer reportedly immediately took the student and his possessions into custody.
Deputies said while there were no threats associated with the incident, the school was placed under a brief lockdown.

The teenager was booked into the Florida Parishes Juvenile Detention Center on two counts of illegal possession of a firearm.
