BATON ROUGE - The body of 15-year-old Ja'Derrius Minnieweather has still not been found, despite a suspect being arrested in his murder, Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse told WBRZ on Monday.

Multiple organizations have been helping with the search, including the United Cajun Navy.

Abigail Whitam spoke with the United Cajun Navy and BRPD on Monday about the current status of the search.

Maurice Parms, 51, was arrested over the weekend in connection with Minnieweather's murder after the teen had been missing for two weeks. Parms was originally arrested on June 10 after police found messages between him and a 16-year-old girl while investigating Minnieweather’s disappearance.

He is now being charged with the first-degree murder of Minnieweather.

On Monday, K9s alongside ground teams searched areas that would normally take days to cover, including areas north of Baton Rouge.
