Our first true fall cold front arrives on Friday, immediately ending the fog potential. The weekend will feature highs in the 70s, with lows in the 50s and 40s. Grab those jackets!

Today & Tonight: After another very foggy morning, expect a lot of sunshine with highs in the lower 90s. There will be no chance of rain, and humidity will remain low. Overnight, it will feel comfortable with lows in the mid-60s. Some areas of fog are once again expected, but that potential is a little bit lower than the past few mornings.

Up Next: A major pattern shift arrives Friday with the passage of a powerful cold front. While temperatures will manage to climb into the low 90s during the afternoon, a cold front will trigger a sharp drop later in the day. Moisture looks scarce with this front, so expect little more than an spotty stray shower.

By Saturday morning, you'll feel a distinct chill in the air as morning temperatures will be in the mid-50s and cap out only in the 70s later on. It promises to be a stunning day for LSU homecoming in Baton Rouge—perfect football weather with crisp air and a persistent, refreshing breeze. However, the combination of breezy conditions and dry air will lead to skin drying out fast, so keep lotion and lip balm on standby! These conditions will also lead to an increased risk of wildfires. Avoid outdoor burning and be extremely cautious around tailgate grills, as sparks can ignite dry grass quickly. Sunday morning delivers the weekend's coldest temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s before a mild, steady warmup begins heading into next week.
