Tropical Storm Bertha now has max sustained winds at 45 mph as it now moves inland in southwestern Louisiana and southeastern Texas. For most of us, Bertha has not been that big of a deal. For inland areas, there has been a noticeable breeze and a few tropical showers but that is about it. Bertha will still have influence on the forecast today, causing more breezy conditions and scattered tropical showers. 1-3' of water rise is still possible for coastal areas. We resume a typical summer pattern on Friday.
Today & Tonight: Isolated showers will continue in the morning hours, with activity turning more scattered in the afternoon. Winds will be breezy at times, with gusts 20-30 mph. It will not feel as hot today as highs will top out in the lower 90s. Any showers will fizzle out overnight as Bertha completely pulls away. Winds will calm down as well, with lows in the mid-70s.

Up Next: Conditions will rapidly dry out toward the weekend and much of next week. With rain becoming scarce, heat will build once again. Look for highs in the mid-90s over the weekend, ramping up into the upper 90s by the middle part of next week.
The Tropics: Elsewhere in the basin, all is quiet. No additional development is expected in the Gulf, Caribbean, or Atlantic.
