OXFORD, Miss. - Slow starts for the LSU offense have become an unfortunate theme as of late after a frustrating win against Louisiana Tech in week two and a heartbreaking loss at Ole Miss in week three.
The Tigers scored just 17 first-half points in those two games. LSU's slow start against Ole Miss proved costly as the Tigers spent most of the second half digging themselves out of a 17-point deficit to start the second half.
Quarterback Sam Leavitt also struggled early with just 51 passing yards in the first half.
"Sam again did some good things with his feet," said Lane Kiffin after the game. "Today we were off early. I'm proud of the way the guys battled back. To be down like that at half and go on a 17-0 run, it was really good. But in the end, we didn't finish."
