BATON ROUGE — Costumed revelers turned out in their frightfully best attire Saturday night as the 10/31 Consortium hosted its annual Fifolet Costume Ball, keeping the spooky season in full swing.
Serving as the organization's primary fundraiser, the lively gala featured costume contests, a silent auction, raffles and games. Proceeds from the evening directly fund the nonprofit's mission to ensure local children experience a safe and joyful Halloween through outreach programs, including youth volunteer initiatives, hospital visits, and its annual costume giveaway.
"We're here for a great time and celebrate the spirit of Halloween," said Fifolet Queen Brittany King. "We've done events all year long for the community; tonight is our night to celebrate us."
Organizers noted that preparations for their youth outreach run year-round, with donations of new and gently used costumes collected every September for the annual community giveaway.
