Brusly rolls over Port Allen in Sugar Cane Classic

BRUSLY, La. - Brusly High football got off to a good start for the 2026 season in a 34-0 shutout of Port Allen for their seventh straight win in the Sugar Cane Classic.
From the get-go, it was the Panthers' night. Port Allen fumbled the opening kickoff, and Brusly immediately scored on the ensuing drive. Robdrick Covington rumbled in for the season-opening score, and Brusly rolled from there.
Reggie Riley checked in at quarterback, and he definitely looked the part a year removed from playing receiver for the Panthers. Riley made plays with his arm and his legs in the blowout win.
In week two, Brusly will face Woodlawn at Woodlawn. Port Alen will play Baker in Baker.
