BRPD: 61-year-old woman killed in I-10 crash

BATON ROUGE — A 61-year-old woman died as a result of a two-car accident on I-10 Saturday morning.
Barbara Pikes was traveling Westbound approaching the South Acadian Thruway exit ramp at around 9:30 a.m. when her vehicle struck another from behind, according to BRPD. Her vehicle traveled off the roadway through the grass. Pikes was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash also led to the additional closure of the on-ramp to I-10 Westbound.
