Baton Rouge airport set for $7 million renovation starting in October

BATON ROUGE - More than $7 million in renovations are coming to the Baton Rouge airport.
The city-parish recently approved permits for the project, which airport leaders say will include improvements meant to modernize the airport and enhance the passenger experience.
Louis Hubbard II, assistant director of aviation at BRT, said the work will cover new flooring, furniture and baggage claim areas.
"It’s another investment in BTR as we continue our commitment to being the airport of choice for Louisiana's Capital Region and providing a terminal experience that reflects the needs of the passengers and community we serve, both today and for years to come," he said.
Construction is expected to begin in October and Hubbard says should not impact services. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2027.
