2une In Previews: Interfaith Federation of GBR celebrates 40th Anniversary

BATON ROUGE - The Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge is marking 40 years of connecting people of all faiths in the capital region with a week of anniversary celebrations, including its annual prayer breakfast Thursday morning.
The breakfast, held at Boudreaux's Catering, will celebrate the progress made over more than 40 years by founders and past leaders while looking ahead to the work that remains. The event will also formally introduce new Executive Director Ma'at Latham.
A Community Food Distribution Day is scheduled for Sept. 19 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Cadillac Street Park gym at 6117 Cadillac Street. Free boxes of food containing pantry staples and household items will be handed out.
Volunteers are needed to help pack and load boxes that morning. Service hours are available for high school and college students.
The distribution project is made possible with help from member churches and partners, including GBR Food Bank, Catholic Charities, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Hands2Heart.
