The wet pattern is winding down as a strong ridge builds in from the west. Sunday will be warmer with only isolated storms, followed by even lower rain chances and hotter temperatures through much of next week. 

Today and Tonight:  Most of Sunday will be hot and mostly dry, with highs in the low to mid 90s. A few showers and thunderstorms will develop during the mid to late afternoon, with the best chances where outflow boundaries and sea breezes collide.

Up Next: Monday will bring even fewer storms as the ridge strengthens. Only a few brief afternoon storms are expected, mainly near the coast, and most will be weak.

Rain chances remain very low Tuesday through Friday as strong high pressure takes control. Temperatures will climb into the mid 90s inland, with heat index values generally around 100 to 105. Stronger easterly winds develop by Wednesday, which could bring some minor coastal flooding along east-facing shores during high tide.

Tropics: The National Hurricane Center is watching a disturbance over the central subtropical Atlantic. Development is unlikely over the next couple of days, but conditions could become more favorable for gradual development later this week, with a 20% chance of formation over the next seven days.
